About Mato Grosso do Sul

Mato Grosso do Sul is one of the 27 federal units of Brazil. It is located south of the Midwest. It borders the states of Goiás northeast, east Minas Gerais, Mato Grosso (northern), Paraná (south) and São Paulo (southeast), and Bolivia (west) and Paraguay (west and south). It has an area of 357 124.962 km ², higher than Germany. Its population in 2012 is 2,505,088 inhabitants, giving the state the 21th population. Its capital and largest city is Campo Grande and other important cities are Gold, Corumbá, Três Lagoas, Ponta Pora, Ashland, New Andradina and Aquidauna.
